   Proposal Description:
   To estimate the resource use by dependence states and the transition              probabilities between dependence states. The aim of our study is to understand    how patients transition through levels of dependence.  We are interested in how   changes in measures of cognition, behavior and physical functioning affect        changes in the level of dependence as well as age and diagnoses, controlling      for other patient level characteristics.  We are also interested in how           dependence is associated with residence and other resource use
